Like most toddlers, Red loves markers. They are easy to use, since it takes very little pressure to make bright, bold marks.
To give him as much freedom as I could, I covered his table with a paper grocery bag—that way he could color directly on it. In the future, I may set him up a space on the floor to color, because his table is not very big.
After he had colored for a little while, I added some different textures for him to color. They aren’t very pretty, but I stuck on some foil, wax paper, and a coffee filter.
He liked the feel of the different materials.
We didn’t end up with any save-worthy art, but Red got to get his marker ‘fix!’
